About FADERN

FRIEDREICH ATAXIA LIFE ASSOCIATION (FADERN) is the first non-governmental organization working to ensure that individuals with special needs—Friedreich Ataxia patients—and their relatives can access all fundamental human rights protected by international conventions, while also carrying out awareness activities in the field of disability.

Founded in March 2026, under the leadership of parents Nurşen ARSLAN, Tuncay KILINÇ, Meliha ERİR, Merve BİLGİN, and Numan BİLGİCİ, with supporters Mehmet KURU and Hasip YAZAR.

Since then, we have been carrying out activities with our supporters and volunteers to support the improvement of the quality of life and equal access to social rights of individuals with Friedreich Ataxia. Our headquarters is in Ankara.

Vision

To be a non-governmental organization and a public-benefit association where special individuals with Friedreich Ataxia and their relatives can access all fundamental human rights protected by laws and where awareness-raising activities in the field of disability are continued.

Mission

To ensure the full and effective participation of individuals in social life within the scope of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to support studies on the causes of Friedreich Ataxia, and to work to support regulations aimed at strengthening the physical and psycho-social development of individuals and increasing their quality of life.
